Labor Day and September mark the transition to Fall and the upcoming 17th Annual SDPA Fall Dermatology Conference in Scottsdale. The SDPA also celebrates the launch of Module 21 completing the Diplomate Fellowship and the debut of the new SDPA Connect online community forum for members.

In 2019, the SDPA marked its 25th year with a leadership transition and a new independent operational structure, including dedicated staff and headquarters. As the new President, I am committed to strengthening the SDPA brand through leadership development, expanded educational offerings, and enhanced member engagement.
The SDPA recently wrapped up an Open Call for Committee volunteers and the rosters are now set for the coming year. Thank you to all those that signed up to serve. It's going to be a fantastic and productive year!

A new report from the Greater Access for Patients Partnership (GAPP) finds that long waits for dermatology appointments have negative emotional, physical and financial impacts on patients and caregivers.
SDPA, in partnership with AAPA, is pleased to extend a special invitation to PAs in dermatology attending the SDPA Annual Summer Conference 2019 in DC, or those living in the area, to participate in SDPA’s Capitol Hill Day on Wednesday, June 5.
It is with mixed emotions that I write this. It is my pleasure to congratulate SDPA members Aaron Matthew Brunner and Jane Mast on their new positions as Associate Directors of Dermatology Clinical Sales with Novartis. They will both make a great addition to the Novartis team. That being said, this will leave a void with the SDPA, as they have both diligently served the SDPA for many years.
The SDPA’s 16th Annual Fall Conference in Orlando was a success with strong member engagement, a lively reception, and educational sessions, while the DPAF raised over $11,000 for Camp Wonder. The SDPA has also hired JPA Health Communications to advance advocacy and social media presence, continuing to strengthen the role of dermatology PAs nationwide.
