President's Message | April 2021

Dear Colleagues -

April has been a busy month here at SDPA Headquarters. Recently, your SDPA Board met in Washington DC for our annual Strategic Summit. We were joined by our staff and Bob Harris, a leading expert in strategic planning for nonprofits, to develop SDPA’s strategic plan for the next several years. It was an exciting experience as we envisioned and mapped out the future of the Society. You can rest assured that YOU are in the center of that plan. The entire reason for SDPA’s existence is to serve DermPAs. The new strategic plan includes ways that we can better serve you. For example, we will be placing a larger emphasis on growing our education offerings in addition to improving networking opportunities.

The SDPA strategic plan also includes ways we can serve our patients better. Recently, Executive Director, Chrissy Ward, and I had the pleasure of speaking with the National Eczema Association and the National Psoriasis Foundation. We are working towards strengthening our relationships with these and other patient advocacy groups. It’s important for us to not only support our profession but also those organizations that serve our patients. I encourage you to get involved locally with these organizations and see how you can help make a difference right where you are.

The future remains bright for our profession and the SDPA has a plan in place to ensure that we will continue to illuminate the path of possibilities before you.

With warm regards,

Archana Sangha, MMS, PA-C
SDPA President

P.S. I'd like to briefly remind SDPA members of a great way to support DPAF. On April 29th, DINE WITH DPAF! This is a cooking class for you and your patients to learn to prepare a meal that is focuses on combating inflammation. Bon Appétit!
