What is the SDPA?
The Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA) is a nonprofit professional organization representing over 5,000 Dermatology PAs (DermPAs™) and growing. Since 1994, SDPA has supported PAs in dermatology through education, advocacy, and community.
How do I join?
Visit our Join/Renew page to choose your membership type and apply online. Memberships are valid for one year from the date you join.
Membership Categories:
- Fellow: Practicing DermPA™ supervised by a board-certified dermatologist
- Associate: PAs interested in dermatology or transitioning into the field
- Affiliate: Healthcare professionals, educators, and industry partners
- Physician: Dermatologists supervising a Fellow PA (complimentary)
- Student: Enrolled in an accredited PA program

How do I get involved?
SDPA offers multiple ways to serve and lead. You can:
- Join a committee
- Serve as a state ambassador
- Volunteer with the JDPA or the DermPA Foundation
- Run for elected office
What’s SDPA’s relationship with the AAD?
We work closely with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) to support collaborative, team-based dermatologic care and advocate for greater recognition and access for DermPAs™ nationwide.
