SDPA Fall 2017 | After the Storm: Hurricane Irma Update

For those attending, or considering attending, the SDPA 15th Annual Fall Dermatology Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico we wanted to give you an update on the status of the hotel since Hurricane Irma has passed.

Although the hurricane caused damage to the island, we’ve heard from the management of both of our conference hotels in San Juan, the Caribe Hilton and the Condado Plaza Hilton. Both properties suffered only minor damage; mostly to landscaping and some water intrusion on the lower level of each hotel. We’ve been assured that the damage is mostly cosmetic and that the hotels are already back up and functioning (actually, they were functioning throughout the storm; read this very interesting, and heart-warming, account from the Caribe Hilton’s general manager). They are ready and waiting to host our conference.
