SDPA State Priorities
PA Practice:
- Support state-level legislation that enables PAs to practice to the full extent of their education, training, and licensure while improving understanding of the PA role and protecting access to PA-delivered care; track and respond to state-level legislative and regulatory efforts that may impact PA practice or access to dermatologic care.
State Utilization Management & Copay Reform:
- Advocate for state-level reforms to reduce administrative burden and ensure copays count toward patient cost-sharing requirements.
AI & Algorithm Based Utilization Management:
- Advocate for oversight of AI-driven and automated prior authorization/denial systems to ensure clinical nuance, transparency, and timely patient care.
Healthcare Workforce Mobility / Non-Compete Reform:
- Support limits on restrictive non-compete agreements to protect workforce mobility and patient access to care.
