Deborah Horwitz
Bio
Deborah became the committee's Chair in July 2023 after serving as Vice Chair. She has been a practicing dermatology PA since 2014, but has also worked in other specialties including Family Medicine, Urgent Care and Infectious Disease clinical trials research. She is currently working within Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's Dermatology Department in an outpatient setting. She is also involved with APP education and training within the University.
She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant program in 2010, where she received a master’s degree. Deborah specializes in general adult and pediatric dermatology. Prior to moving back to DC, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee PA program from 2019-2023 teaching Dermatology, Pediatrics and a special topics in medicine course.
Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Communications from The American University in Washington, DC. Prior to becoming a PA, Deborah worked in healthcare public relations and worked on Capitol Hill in the House of Representatives and lobbying for healthcare interests groups.
Deborah is passionate about advocating for the Derm PA profession and on behalf of our patient's and their access to medications.
