Submit a nomination today!

From the nominations received, the Nominating Committee will contact the proposed candidates to determine eligibility and qualifications, review the nomination materials received, and then prepare the 2020-2021 slate of candidates.  Elections will open to the membership on March 1, 2020.  Ballots will be due by 11:59 pm Eastern on March 31, 2020.

What does it mean to be an ‘Endorsed Candidate?’

The SDPA bylaws state that the Nominations Committee will receive applications for SDPA elections and evaluate said candidates who wish to be endorsed for office.  In order to be an endorsed candidate, anyone seeking to run for the SDPA office can choose to submit to an additional interview process through which their experience, skills, knowledge, and intentions are evaluated and scored against the other candidates seeking endorsement for the same office.

The Nominations Committee will then score the individual candidates using an objective rubric and reconciliation process in order to select the most qualified candidate(s) for the SDPA office.  The candidates will be ranked according to their answers and matched to meet the needs of the SDPA for that particular election cycle.  The candidate(s) rated the highest on the reconciled rubrics will be denoted on the election ballot as an endorsed candidate.

Please note: It is not a requirement for a candidate to go through the endorsement process in order to run for SDPA elections but participation is highly encouraged.

If interested in SDPA leadership, but you do not meet the qualifications OR you do not feel ready to serve in a leadership position at this time, please visit the SDPA Committees online and begin your involvement at the committee level.
