Leadership Team

The SDPA is run by a dedicated team of volunteer leaders working within the field of dermatology. The board of directors (BOD) is the SDPA governing body and is assisted by a number of committees each with their own charge as appointed by the BOD. A member meeting is held twice a year at the SDPA’s two annual conferences where the BOD updates the membership on the society’s activities and projects.

Board of Directors

The board of directors is composed of nine elected individuals: President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Treasurer/Secretary, Vice President, and four Directors At Large. A board of director term of office begins July 1st each year and concludes June 30th of the following year.

President – Joleen Volz DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA

Joleen Volz, originally from Upstate New York, lived in North Carolina for 12 years prior to transplanting to the downtown Fort Worth area of Texas. She obtained her first degrees in AAS Criminal Justice in 1994. Following that she obtained her Bachelor of Physician Assistant Studies in 2003 from East Carolina University and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska at Omaha with a dermatology focus. Prior to becoming a PA, Joleen was a correctional officer and EMT. Joleen joined SDPA leadership as the Constituent Relations Chair in 2009. She served as the Treasurer/Secretary for four years before being elected to the position of President-Elect and now serves as the President. For Joleen, being involved in SDPA leadership allows her to give back to a society which has had such an impact on the growth of the profession of dermatology PAs.



President Elect – Gina Mangin MPAS, PA-C

Gina Mangin, MPAS, PA-C has been a PA for fifteen years, since graduating from East Carolina University PA program in 1999. She has been practicing dermatology for seven years although has past experience in gastroenterology and neurosurgery. Currently, she is working at Sand Lake Dermatology Center in Orlando, Florida. She has been active in the SDPA since 2012 as a Distance CME Committee member and currently sits on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer/Secretary. Prior to taking on the role of Treasurer/Secretary, Gina served as a Director At Large. In the past, Gina has also been involved with the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA) and has served numerous roles, including President, Vice President, and CME Chair. Her leadership roles with the SDPA and FSDPA have allowed her to give back to her colleagues and help further the profession of dermatology PAs.



Vice President – John Notabartolo, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA


 John Notabartolo graduated from the Interservice PA Program through University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1998. He served 21 years active duty in the US Air Force and has been actively participating in nonprofit leadership for the past 20 years. John has been President of the Society of Air Force PAs and the SDPA. He has also held numerous volunteer and elected positions within those organizations as well as within the AAPA. During the past year, John held the position of Legislative Affairs Committee Chair in the SDPA, prior to being elected as the Vice Chair. John also served on the Dermatology PA Foundation (DPAF) as a founding Board of Trustee member and specifically as Chair of the Foundation from 2016-2017.



Treasurer/Secretary – Archana Sangha MMS, PA-C

Archana Sangha has been in SDPA leadership since 2012. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Towson University and went on to earn her Masters in Medical Science and Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University. Prior to being elected as Secretary/Treasurer, she served as Director at Large and Membership Committee Co-Chair. She enjoys practicing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in Maryland and Northern Virginia. She has a passion for medical missions and philanthropic work. In her free time, Archana enjoys reading, hiking and traveling.


Director At Large – Greg Buttolph, PA-C

 Greg Buttolph grew up in Northeast Iowa. In 1986 he joined the US Navy and as a corpsman served as lab tech/cyto tech on ship and overseas. Greg was selected for the Navy Physician Assistant Program and received his degree through George Washington University in 1995 and a Master’s degree in 1997 through the University of Nebraska. After leaving active duty Navy in 2000, Greg worked in the Mayo Clinic and Gundersen Lutheran Health systems in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. In 2013 he moved with Judie, his wife of 36 years, to Chico, CA where he works at North Valley Dermatology and trying to practice retirement in Northern California. As a 20+ year member of SDPA, Greg has served as CME director, Director at Large and President. Greg was involved in the creation, development and implementation of our two CME conferences and continues to have a great interest in dermatology PA education of any kind.

Director At Large – Sara Wilchowski MS, PA-C

 Sara Wilchowski born and raised in Michigan, has been an SDPA member since 2010. She completed her undergraduate degree at Eastern Michigan University. There she was a varsity gymnast and president of the exercise science organization. She then went on to receive her masters from Wayne State University and graduated magna cum laude. Her involvement in leadership began as a student. She was a member of the Student Affairs Committee before transitioning into the Recent Graduate Advisor position. Following that role she served as the Membership Committee Co-Chair from 2014-2017 and Constituent Relations Chair from 2017-2018. Sara founded the Michigan Affiliate Chapter of the SDPA and served as the inaugural President. Sara is involved in leadership because she has a passion for advancing the PA profession.

Director at Large - Hannah Rodriguez, MPAS, PA-C


Hannah Rodriguez is a certified Physician Assistant who graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She continued her graduate education at the highly acclaimed University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX where she earned her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies and served as the Vice President of her PA class. Upon graduating, she and her husband moved to Philadelphia where she specializes in medical dermatology at Pennsylvania Dermatology Partners.


Hannah currently serves as the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Dermatology Physician Assistants (PDPA). In this role, she focuses on increasing member involvement, fundraising and advocating to amend legislative barriers so that her fellow colleagues have the opportunity for optimal team practice. As the SDPA Legislative Affairs Committee Chair, she looks forward to supporting your legislative needs.

Director At Large – Renata Block MMS, PA-C

 Renata was born and raised in Chicago, IL and has been specializing in dermatology since 2003. She became active in her state affiliate in 2009 and served as President of the Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (ISDPA) from 2010 - 2013. From 2013-2017 Renata served as the SDPA Constituent Relations Chair to assist other states to form affiliates with the SDPA. She currently serves as a Director At Large on the SDPA Board. Renata has a Masters in Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. Before beginning her education as a Physician Assistant, she received an undergraduate degree with honors in Biology/Pre-Med with dual minors in Chemistry and Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. She believes being active in leadership is important to educate the public on the importance of dermatology PAs and the role they play in healthcare.
