Who We Are
The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants is a non profit professional organization composed of members who provide dermatologic care or have an interest in the medical specialty of dermatology. Its Fellow members provide medical services under the supervision of a Board Certified Dermatologist. Founded in 1994, this organization currently has more than 2500 members.
THE MISSION OF THE SDPA IS TO:
- Provide continuing medical education that enhances the skills, knowledge and function of its members in the practice of dermatology.
- Form a leadership structure that provides services and a forum for communication, builds collegial relationships, and acts as an advocate for its members.
- Advance the utilization and team concept of Physician Assistants in the practice of dermatology in a supervised relationship with physicians.
- Develop resources for the evaluation, reimbursement processes and hiring of Physician Assistants in dermatology.
