Leadership Team

The SDPA is run by a dedicated team of volunteer leaders working within the field of dermatology. The board of directors (BOD) is the SDPA governing body and is assisted by a number of committees each with their own charge as appointed by the BOD. A member meeting is held twice a year at the SDPA’s two annual conferences where the BOD updates the membership on the society’s activities and projects.

Board of Directors

The board of directors is composed of nine elected individuals: President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Treasurer/Secretary, Vice President, and four Directors At Large. A board of director term of office begins July 1st each year and concludes June 30th of the following year.

President – Jennifer Conner MPAS, PA-C

Jennifer M. Conner, MPAS, PA-C grew up Indiana and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marian University in Indianapolis in 2003. Following her undergraduate education, she attended the U.S Army Interservice Physician Assistant Program at Fort Sam Houston and earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006 from the University of Nebraska. She served in the US Army National Guard for 11 years as a Medical Specialist Corps officer and battalion physician assistant. Jennifer began her career as a PA in dermatology in 2006. Jennifer has been involved in SDPA leadership since 2009 and is honored to give back to the SDPA in honor of those who paved the way for the PA profession and the patients we serve. She has served 3 years as Public Education Committee Chair, 3 years as Director at Large, and is the current SDPA President.  Jennifer also serves as a founding trustee for the Dermatology PA Foundation.  She is an active volunteer for the Melanoma Research Foundation and has led the SDPA Miles for Melanoma program and philanthropic activities since 2012. Outside of practicing dermatology and serving the SDPA, Jennifer enjoys travel, running, baking, and spending time with her husband and three children.

President-Elect – Jane Mast MPAS, PA-C

Jane Mast grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a degree in Biochemistry. She then moved to Florida to attend the University of Florida School of Medicine for Physician Assistant studies. She has been practicing Dermatology at Space Coast Dermatology in Merritt Island, FL for the last 14 years. She has served on the SDPA Judicial and Ethical affairs committee for 4 years, as Legislative committee chair for 3 years and was a Director at Large for over a year before taking her position as President-Elect. She has a passion for advancing the PA profession and is grateful to be a part of the great work the SDPA is accomplishing.


Immediate Past President – Matthew Brunner MHS, PA-C

Matthew Brunner is a 2000 graduate of the University of South Alabama Physician Assistant training program where he received his Master of Health Science degree. He has practiced in metropolitan Atlanta as a dermatology PA since 2001 with a focus on medical and surgical dermatology. He is a two time past president of the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants and has served as CME chair for the GDPA annual conference, Dermatology PEARLS, since 2009. He has also served as Executive Director of the GDPA since 2012. Elected as Director at Large for the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants in 2012; he is the current Immediate Past President, CME Director of Conferences and Election Committee Chair. His passion is focused on expanding professional education opportunities for his fellow dermatology peers.

Treasurer/Secretary – Joleen Volz MPAS, PA-C

Joleen Volz, originally from Upstate New York, lived in North Carolina for 12 years prior to transplanting to the downtown Fort Worth area of Texas. She obtained her first degrees in AAS Criminal Justice in 1994. Following that she obtained her Bachelor of Physician Assistant Studies in 203 from East Carolina University and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska at Omaha with a dermatology focus. Prior to becoming a PA, Joleen was a correctional officer and EMT. Joleen joined SDPA leadership as the Constituent Relations Chair in 2009 and is currently serving her fourth year on the Board of Directors as the Secretary/Treasurer. For Joleen, being involved in SDPA leadership allows her to give back to a society which has had such an impact on the growth of the profession of dermatology PAs.

Vice President – Jacklynn A. Kment MPAS, PA-C

Jacklynn (Jacki) Kment is employed by Sutton Ryan Dermatology in Lincoln, Nebraska where she works with Drs. Margaret Kontras Sutton and Robyn Gembol Ryan. Jacki graduated from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa and then completed physician assistant training at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.  She then earned a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies with a specialization in dermatology from The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon completing PA school in 1994, she spent four years in primary care, which included two years in the National Health Service Corps.  She has worked exclusively in dermatology since 1997 and has a special interest in acne and psoriasis. Jacki became a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) in 1998 and has served as Vice President (2002), Membership Committee Chair (2010) and currently serves as Vice President (2011- Present).  She is also honored to be the founder and Past President and current board member of the Nebraska Dermatology Physician Assistants and served as the inaugural mid-level board member of the Nebraska Dermatology Society.   She has also served as Membership Chair of the Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants. Jacki is married to Rick Kment and they have two sons, Cole and Quinn.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, landscaping, boating, camping, and ATV adventures.

Director At Large – Matthew Dohlman MHS, PA-C

Matthew Dohlman was born, raised, and currently works in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2003, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma PA program and has worked in dermatology ever since.  In 2015 Matthew started on the leadership team as Director-At-Large. He got involved in leadership to give back to an organization that has contributed so much to his own professional growth.

Director At Large – Gina Mangin MPAS, PA-C

Gina Mangin, MPAS, PA-C has been a physician assistant for fifteen years, since graduating from East Carolina University PA program in 1999. She has been practicing dermatology for seven years although has past experience in gastroenterology and neurosurgery. Currently, she is working at Sand Lake Dermatology Center in Orlando, Florida. She has been active in the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) since 2012 as a Distance CME committee member and currently sits on the Board of Directors as a Director at Large. In the past, Mangin has also been involved with the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA) and has served numerous roles, including President, Vice President, and CME Chair. Her leadership roles with the SDPA and FSDPA have allowed her to give back to her colleagues and help further the profession of dermatology PAs.

Director At Large – Mark Hyde MMS, PA-C

Mark is from Salt Lake City, Utah.  He is currently serving his second (non-consecutive) term as a Director At Large.  Previously Mark has also served as the Chair of the Public Relations Committee, now named the Publication Education Committee. Mark obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, his PA education from Midwestern in Glendale, Arizona, and is presently working towards his PhD in Public Health from the University of Utah. “I am involved with the SDPA because I feel it is important to contribute back to the profession AND the networking and experience is really helpful.”


Director At Large – Archana Sangha MMS, PA-C

Archana Sangha, currently living in Silver Spring Maryland has been involved in SDPA leadership since 2012. Having graduated from Salus University in Elkins Park, PA, Archana practices cosmetic and surgical dermatology. She has a passion of medical missions and philanthropic work. Prior to serving as a Director At Large on the board, Archana served as the Membership Committee Co-Chair in charge of retention efforts. She first joined the leadership team because she wanted to give back to a profession that have given so much in return to her.
